Turnpost helps Food Bank for the Heartland deliver an updated user experience.

Here at Turnpost, we’ve had the honor of working with Food Bank for the Heartland for more than five years, creating materials for the organization’s popular celebrity chef event, developing billboards and supporting their inspiring mission of eliminating hunger in Nebraska and Western Iowa. So, needless to say, when they asked us to redesign their website, we were on board immediately.

The Food Bank team was seeking something more modern in both its look and its features – a visually appealing, mobile-friendly site that would be truly useful for visitors. They wanted their new website to be a place where people could easily learn how to donate time, food or funds and take action immediately.

We sat down with Brian Barks, the Food Bank’s Director of Development and Communications, and Stephani Romero, Marketing and Creative Communications Coordinator, to learn more about what the organization’s leadership wanted to include (and avoid) in their new site. And then we got to work.

The completely redesigned foodbankheartland.org includes a variety of updated tools and features, including:

• A more modern elevator template
• Expandable content
• Sticky navigation for easy reference
• An events calendar
• A Pinterest feed that pulls in recipes
• An advanced contact form and integrated PayPal forms for easy donating
• Downloadable audit forms
• A detailed history timeline – and much more

We’re proud of the results and so glad that the leadership team at the Food Bank is pleased as well.
