Making hunger a local issue – with an empowering solution.

Objective

Food Bank for the Heartland does amazing work – providing nutritious meals for hungry people across Nebraska and Western Iowa. But, while they’re working to end food insecurity, they’re also fighting a host of misconceptions and a general lack of awareness about who they are, who they help, and they kind of support they need.

Strategy

Through a mix of traditional media and digital strategy, the “Locally Sourced” campaign educates citizens on the prevalence of food scarcity in their communities and empowers them to act locally, donating money that can, in turn, feed their neighbors.

Outcome

Now in its third year, the campaign has helped the Food Bank bring in more donations, deliver 11.4 million pounds of additional food (and counting) and foster a more motivated, informed donor base.
