The Arthur

Modern Living with Historical Roots

The Arthur is a new multifamily apartment community at 48th and Dodge in Omaha, Nebraska, managed by Burlington Capital and designed by Holland Basham Architects, The project incorporates the historic Pittman Veterinary building, which now serves as the community’s leasing office. This restored landmark honors Dr. Arthur B. Pittman, Omaha’s first African American veterinarian and civic leader. Turnpost was asked to provide brand development, including naming and logo design, with the objective of creating a modern, distinctive brand identity that reflects the community’s forward-looking lifestyle while paying tribute to the site’s historic legacy.

Outcome

Turnpost named the development The Arthur in recognition of Dr. Pittman’s legacy of opportunity and leadership. The brand identity reflects the property’s Art Moderne architecture through a refined wordmark, while the sun icon takes inspiration from Dr. Pittman’s New Horizons housing initiative of the 1960s. Together, these elements create a meaningful and distinctive brand that celebrates the past while welcoming a new chapter of urban living.
