Research shows that young men who fail to complete 9th grade at grade level are at a much greater risk for dropping out of high school. Knowing the odds are stacked against young men in North Omaha – Nebraska ranked 47th in the nation for graduating African American males in 2012 – the founders of NorthStar Foundation sought to fill a dire need. To create a place and an experiential program that engages, inspires and offers North Omaha’s middle-school-aged boys a path for success.
From its earliest days, we worked with NorthStar to build a brand and accompanying collateral that sets it apart and brings its mission to life.
These days, NorthStar’s program is booked to capacity. School partnerships are being forged, and as its first generation of students prepares to graduate high school, the program is well on its way to proving its worth.
